Safe Storage @ King - New Gate Operator / Motor

Dear King Street Customers,

As many of you already know, the gate at King has been sporadically working over the past month or so.  This is the longest we have ever had gate issues at any of our facilities. We basically trouble shot or replaced every part on the gate operator it self and some of the parts on the access control system.

We knew from the start that the timer on the main circuit board was somehow being turned off.  Usually this is caused by the loops in the ground that can tell when your vehicle is close to the gate.  This time how ever, it didn't matter what we bypassed, the timer would sporadically turn it self off.  What made matters more frustrating is we swapped out the circuit panel with a brand new one and it still had the same problem.  We then took the old circuit panel to one of the other facilities and it worked flawlessly.  Over the years, I have intentionally purchased the same gate operators so we can trouble shoot / use the same parts at each facility.  In the past this has helped us resolve issues with our gates faster than other companies.

The only recourse I have at this point is to order a brand new gate operator, which is what we have done.  The new gate operator should be here by the end of the week and we plan to install it as soon as it is delivered to our office. Hopefully this will resolve the gate issue at King and allow us to trouble shoot the old gate operator in our shop to find where the problem was so we never have this issue again.

I apologize for any confusion this has caused.  We will always work to keep our facilities secure but this has been a very frustrating problem since none of the typical repairs worked.

Remember that even if the gate is open, you still have to put your code in at the gate to be able to get in the building.

Thank you for your patience!  If you have any questions, please let me know.
